Track List for The Hourglass Door trilogy:
One question I get a lot is, “Do you listen to music when you write?” And the answer is yes. And when I was done with writing The Hourglass Door, my husband made a mix CD for me of songs either that I listened to a lot during the writing process, or songs that reminded me thematically of the plot and characters. Here is that track listing of what I like to call my “Zero Hour Mix.”
“The River” by Live
“11:59” by Doubledrive
“Born for This” by Paramore
“Get Ready” by Live
“Time after Time” by Cassandra Wilson
“Bliss” by Alice Peacock
“Bravado” by Rush
“Now Is the Time” by Damone
“Blue on Black” by Kenny Wayne Shepherd
“Times Like These” by Foo Fighters
“Helpless” by Geoff Tate (I always think of Valerie and Zo when I hear this song.
“Lovers in a Dangerous Time” by Barenaked Ladies
“Winners and Losers” by Social Distortion (This one reminds me of Leo.)
“Time Stand Still” by Rush
“When the Time Comes” by Magni
“Save Me” by Juke Kartel
“See a Little Light” by Bob Mould
“Dante’s Prayer” by Loreena McKennitt
What songs remind you of Abby and Dante?
Speaking of Music . . .
My friend designed an album cover for Zero Hour. What do you think?
In The Hourglass Door, I list a number of bands who have played at the Dungeon. One of them was Swedish Bitters. Just for fun, I designed a mock album cover for them as well.
